Abstract

Dear Scientific Community,

We are pleased to present Volume 8, Issue 1 of Revista Novasinergia, covering the first semester of 2025. This edition brings together works rigorously and creatively addressing key aspects of sustainable development, technological innovation, and the interaction among society, the environment, and cultural heritage.
In the field of civil and structural engineering, several studies examine the performance and optimization of infrastructure—ranging from the structural resistance of supports for rainwater storage, the efficiency in the kinematic design of professional furniture, and the safety and stability of mining slopes, to the dynamic interaction between soils and urban structures, advanced masonry modeling, and the quality evaluation of technical specifications in civil works. These contributions underscore the importance of evidence-based engineering, precise simulations, and clear standards.
From a socio-environmental perspective, this issue presents a comprehensive assessment of perceptions in communities near protected areas, offering a deeper understanding of the relationship between local populations, natural resource conservation, and development policies.
Technological innovation is showcased through studies on mobile applications for preserving cultural heritage—enhancing access to and disseminating historical legacies even without internet connectivity—and classifying agricultural diseases using computer vision, thereby strengthening food security. Additionally, there is an analysis of the impact of large language models on software development, highlighting the new possibilities and challenges that artificial intelligence brings to producing efficient, high-quality code.
We invite our readers to explore these articles, reflect on their findings, and participate in the joint construction of more resilient, inclusive, and innovative solutions. We trust that these contributions will open new avenues of research and collaboration to benefit society and the environment.
