Abstract

Dear Scientific Community,

It is a privilege to present Volume 9, Issue 1 of Novasinergia, corresponding to the first semester of 2026. This edition features a carefully curated collection of research that seamlessly integrates technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and practical engineering solutions, thereby reinforcing the journal’s commitment to advancing applied knowledge in engineering and science.

This issue highlights the increasingly prominent role of artificial intelligence in engineering, with contributions ranging from Transformer T5-based chatbots for predictive diagnosis of induction motor faults, deep-learning web applications for early skin cancer detection, and a comprehensive review of AI trends in mechanical engineering, to telecommunications advancements such as dual-band 20/30 GHz transmitarray antennas and mathematical models linking normality test statistics with p-values.

In the field of environmental sustainability, the volume includes studies on the spatiotemporal evolution of potential reforestation lands and their carbon sequestration capacity, multitemporal assessment of deforestation impacts on regulatory ecosystem services in the Chillayacu sub-basin, and the use of natural pozzolans in sustainable concrete mixtures, shear characterization of reinforced masonry walls, and comparative analysis of gas analyzers employed in vehicle technical inspection centres.

These works underscore our dedication to generating knowledge that directly addresses contemporary challenges: digital transformation and environmental preservation. We invite our readers to explore these articles, reflect on their implications, and join us in building innovative, resilient, and inclusive solutions.
